The Aristocrats – Australia October 2016

    TresCaballeros_tourPosteroz_FINAL

One of the most impressive and sought after bands in the Instrumental rock/fusion scene today, The Aristocrats, will be heading to Australia this October for a national tour!

Featuring the combined virtuoso talents of drummer Marco Minnemann (Steve Wilson, Joe Satriani), bassist Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, Dethklok) and Guthrie Govan (Steven Wilson, Asia/GPS), the all-star supergroup have released three studio albums. The latest, Tres Caballeros was released in June 2015 and saw them re-write their own rules to deliver a record with greater sonic depth than ever!

Unique textures and lush layers combine with the bands near telepathic ability to improvise individually and collectively while maintaining the highest levels of musicianship possible. It’s not all time signatures and syncopation though, the guys definitely do not take themselves too seriously and have more fun than a fusion band has any right to have!

Fresh off their wildly successful 2013-2014 Culture Clash world tour, The Aristocrats – by any measure the hottest new band in instrumental rock/fusion today – rewrote their own rules for their third studio album, Tres Caballeros, which is slated for release in late June.
After two fairly raw trio albums, guitarist Guthrie Govan (Steven Wilson, Asia/GPS), bassist Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, Dethklok) and drummer Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani) set up camp at legendary Sunset Sound studios in Hollywood, CA, where Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Van Halen all recorded landmark albums.
The result: Nine new compositions of greater sonic depth and breadth than ever before, with unique textures and lush layering augmenting the band’s preternatural ability to improvise both individually and as a group at the highest levels possible. But not to worry – it’s all still tempered with a steadfast refusal to take themselves too seriously, and The Aristocrats are still having more fun than a fusion band has any right to have.
“We’ve learned a lot since we started this band – four years, three studio albums, two live DVDs and about a billion notes ago! – and I think our latest offering reflects this in all kinds of ways,” says guitarist Guthrie Govan. “The decision to road-test our new material in front of a live audience before commencing the recording process; the choice to record in a studio which had some thoroughly inspiring rock’n’roll “mojo”; our sudden urge to become more bold and experimental with overdubs rather than feeling any pressure to record exclusively in a strict “trio” format… all of this has had some kind of positive effect on the way the new record came out. Plus, I think the material on this album is some of the most interesting stuff we’ve ever written for each other, so… here’s hoping our noble listeners will like the finished product as much as we do!”

After a successful North American tour and a successful first leg of a European tour the band has decided to tour Asia again between August 17 and September 20, 2016.

Bookings for Asia will be handled by jellybeard. For more information and inquiries interested parties and promoters in Asia (and Australia) can connect through booking at jellybeard.com.

Tony MacAlpine postpones Asia Tour due to illness

Sad news, Tony had severe abdominal pains and was taken into the hospital and is scheduled for immediate surgery this week. Tony will need to recover and the tour will be re-scheduled next year 2016 probably in the month of February. jellybeard wishes Tony MacAlpine a speedy recovery and sends him and his family positive thoughts.

TONY MACALPINE POSTPONES ASIA AND AUSTRALIA TOURS DUE TO ILLNESS
To my friends in Asia and Australia, it is with great disappointment and regret that I must announce the postponement of my tours in Asia and Australia.

    11894561_10154160987764517_395410771711163854_o

Last week I was taken to the hospital with severe stomach pains. Following blood work, multiple MRI scans and various procedures, medical doctors discovered a large mass in my intestine, and it seems likely that we are dealing with cancer. My doctors have advised me that this will need to be dealt with immediately, and I am scheduled for surgery this week. Recovery from this surgery will take a month – right when I was scheduled to tour the Australasian region.
Providing all goes well, it is our understanding I should be well enough to perform on the coming European tour.
For Australia and Asia, we are working on rescheduling the shows. We will advise you as soon as possible when the new dates are booked.

In Australia, refunds may be obtained via thumpmusic.com.au.
In Asia, refunds can be obtained through the ticket purchase outlet.
I want to thank Jellybeard Music & Management (our booking agent in Asia) and Thump Music (our booking agent in Australia) for being so supportive in light of this news. We apologize for any inconvenience these tour postponements have caused, but I’m determined to make these dates up, and rock your city soon!

    Wishing you all the best,
    Tony
